I never thought I'd do a solo art show, but several months ago I received an email from the Danville Art League https://www.danvilleartleague.com/ asking if I'd like to have an exhibition at their former Red Cross building that is now a community art center. Figuring such an opportunity would never come my way again, I said yes!
The opening reception is Saturday, October 10, 2026, 1 to 3 pm (light refreshments will be served), but the paintings are up now (Sept. 26) through November.
Because DAL is an art teaching and learning center, part of my exhibit is "How Do Artists Learn?" I show examples of classwork, in person and on Zoom, original inspirations, and even an AI-generated image to spark discussion.
The DAL is open Wednesday and Saturday, 9 am to 12 pm (and special events, or by appointment: 217-442-9264 or email thedanvilleartleague@gmail.com). It's an amazing space, with a large meeting room/gallery, a huge painting room and a pottery studio. The address is 320 North Franklin St., Danville.
